We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 3 Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. If you have previous experience within a healthcare setting, particularly in ophthalmology, we encourage you to apply. Alternatively, we offer comprehensive training to help you develop your skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out essential tests to support the work of medical and nursing staff in the Eye Department. This may include visual acuity testing, OCT imaging, and other diagnostic procedures. Your attention to detail and ability to work calmly under pressure will be essential in providing high-quality patient care.

We offer a competitive salary package, with an estimated £26,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out essential tests to support the work of medical and nursing staff in the Eye Department
  • Perform visual acuity testing, OCT imaging, and other diagnostic procedures as required
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of patient care
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and patients

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently
