Job Title: Religious Education Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Religious Education (RE) Specialist to join our team at a forward-thinking Secondary school in Hartlepool. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated RE lessons, promoting inclusivity, and contributing to the continuous development of the RE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum and national standards, catering to students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Promote a respectful and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to engage in open discussions about religious, moral, and spiritual matters.
  • Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to aid their development.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the RE curriculum, incorporating innovative and contemporary approaches to ensure relevance to current societal issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Subject expertise in world religions, ethical philosophies, and contemporary moral issues.
  • Effective communication skills to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A commitment to promoting religious literacy, respect for diversity, and critical thinking among students.
  • Adaptability and resilience to manage the challenges of a dynamic classroom and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
