We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Mental Health Practitioner to join our CYPMHS team in Wirral. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with children, young people, and their families to provide high-quality therapeutic interventions and support.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. As a Child Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing, formulating, and delivering evidence-based interventions to children and young people with mild to severe mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and risk assessments to identify the needs of children and young people
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with families and other professionals
- Deliver therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Practice (SFP), and other evidence-based approaches
- Provide clinical supervision and support to colleagues
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care and support
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Professional registration with a recognized national body (e.g., HCPC, NMC, Social Work England)
- Nationally recognized post-qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to the core profession
- Therapeutic training to intermediate/diploma level
- Significant post-qualification experience of working within a CYPMHS or child mental health-related field
- Experience of working with children and young people, including those with complex mental health needs
