About the Role

RPC is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Construction team in London. The team is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for the majority of Professional Indemnity insurers in the market.

The team handles a wide variety of claims against construction-related professionals, including engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, design and build contractors, and surveyors. The role involves defending liability claims, providing advice and representation on associated matters, and advising insurers on policy coverage aspects of claims.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with partners and lawyers within a vibrant and growing team. The work will be varied, interesting, and challenging, with autonomy to manage a caseload of construction professional indemnity claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of construction professional indemnity claims, including coverage issues
  • Deliver high-quality and timely output to clients, ensuring the highest levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes, and procedures
  • Capture and collate required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients
  • Arrange and attend client events

Requirements

  • Circa 5 years PQE or equivalent relevant expertise
  • Expertise in construction litigation experience
  • Good knowledge of legal procedures
  • Excellent communication skills (both orally and in writing)
  • Takes responsibility for managing and developing strong relationships with clients based on an understanding of their business objectives
  • Committed to business development to further grow the practice
  • Works efficiently and commercially and understands the importance of financial hygiene
  • A collaborative leader within a team who coaches and develops junior team members to achieve their full potential
  • Committed to being part of a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative firm culture
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
