The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at GEM Partnerships. As an electro-mechanical specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment to ensure it operates at optimal levels with minimal downtime.

Shifts: 6-2, 2-10 rotational

Package: £43,700 inc. shift premium as a start point

Responsibilities & Duties

  1. To provide a professional, high-quality maintenance service following adequate training on the equipment.
  2. Responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of production lines and manufacturing site in accordance with product standards and specifications.
  3. Ensure that all operations on equipment are performed to a professional standard.
  4. Inform and update Engineering and Production Management with regards to line availability following breakdowns.
  5. Work closely as part of a team in conjunction with Production and Quality departments.
  6. Ensure that equipment is properly maintained, and identified faults are reported and logged.
  7. Assist with the planned preventative maintenance programs.
  8. Ensure all tools and parts are removed from equipment, and area is cleared/cleaned prior to production line re-start.
  9. Recording of maintenance activities/resolutions in shift log for future reference.
  10. Maintain skills/knowledge.
  11. Training and working with line operatives to improve setting skills where required.
  12. Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with current H&S, environmental, and food safety legislation and procedures.
  13. Use all PPE and equipment as instructed.
  14. Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  15. Report any serious malfunctions or risks to a responsible person.
  16. This list is not exhaustive and will be added to or amended as business needs require.

The Person

Candidates should be time served with an electrical or mechanical bias, and have at least 3 years dual skill maintenance experience post apprenticeship in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
