Job Summary

Merrifield Consultants is partnering with a heritage and conservation charity to find a Trusts and Philanthropy Officer to join their team. This role will focus on building capacity in philanthropic giving from trusts, foundations, and individuals to support capital appeals for award-winning heritage conservation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategy for communicating with small and mid-level trusts, managing a portfolio of larger trusts and foundations, and cultivating relationships with donors to projects and appeals.
  • Research and identify new trust and foundation prospects, utilizing external agencies as needed, to grow and maximize trusts income in line with overall objectives and plans.
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager (Major Gifts) to develop an effective strategy for charitable trusts and foundations, and work with other teams to identify needs and opportunities for funding.
  • Utilize events, digital engagement, and stewardship methods to thank current trust supporters and engage new prospects.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in trust fundraising, a strong understanding of the heritage conservation sector, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
