Job Opportunity

Merrifield Consultants is partnering with a heritage and conservation charity to find a Trusts and Philanthropy Officer to join their team. This role will focus on building capacity in philanthropic giving from trusts, foundations, and individuals to support capital appeals for award-winning heritage conservation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for communicating with small and mid-level trusts, and manage a portfolio of larger trusts and foundations.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors to projects and appeals, and develop compelling proposals and applications for funding.
  • Achieve personal income targets in support of overall targets for trusts and foundations, and individual giving to projects and appeals.
  • Work with the Development Manager to develop an effective strategy for charitable trusts and foundations, and grow and maximise trusts income in line with overall objectives and plans.
  • Lead research to identify and maximise the potential of new trust and foundation prospects, and work with other teams to identify needs and opportunities for funding.
  • Utilise events, digital engagement, and stewardship methods to thank current trust supporters and engage new prospects.
