Job Overview

Forward Role is seeking a highly skilled SEO Strategist to join our client's marketing team in Preston. This dynamic role involves developing and executing SEO strategies across multiple businesses within the Engineering sector.

We are looking for an experienced professional with 2+ years of SEO expertise, preferably in a multi-site or agency environment. As a seasoned SEO Specialist, you will lead, innovate, and optimise SEO strategies as part of an internal marketing function.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse group of companies with unique challenges and goals. You will have the flexibility to work mostly remotely, in a hybrid setup from our Preston office one day a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SEO Strategy Development: Create and implement tailored SEO strategies for multiple companies within the group.
  • On-Page SEO: Optimise website content, metadata, and internal linking structures to ensure content aligns with SEO best practices while maintaining brand voice and user experience.
  • Technical SEO: Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix technical issues such as crawl errors and page speed, ensuring websites are mobile-friendly and optimised for search engine crawlability.
  • Keyword Research & Content Optimisation: Perform keyword research using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Keyword Planner, and collaborate with content teams to produce SEO-optimised blogs, product descriptions, and web pages.
  • Link-Building & Outreach: Develop and execute off-page strategies, including link-building campaigns and partnerships, strengthening domain authority through ethical and effective outreach practices.
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor SEO strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience & Education: 2+ years of SEO experience, ideally in a multi-site, agency, or multi-business environment; a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console; strong understanding of both on-page and off-page SEO techniques.
  • Attributes: Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills; strong organisational skills and attention to detail; ability to adapt strategies for different industries and markets; excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
