About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Information Retrieval Systems Developer to join our team at Humand Talent. This unique contract position offers the opportunity to leverage your skills in NLP, machine learning, and data engineering within a flexible work structure that includes consultancy days and multi-week engagements.

The role involves developing advanced information retrieval systems for academic research, integrating state-of-the-art AI and engineering techniques. You will collaborate with legal and academic experts to create reliable AI systems for high-accuracy data retrieval and citation.

You will work alongside AI, UX, and data science specialists to enhance user experience and build tools that support transparency and trust. The role allows for varied project involvement, from standalone consultancy days to multi-week assignments, adapting to your availability and the project's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing advanced data pipelines for categorizing and interpreting user requests
  • Implementing scalable data solutions using Apache Spark and Airflow
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
  • Designing transparent AI systems that clearly present referenced AI-generated summaries

What You'll Need:

  • Experience with large language models and NLP model development
  • Knowledge of back-end frameworks (Python, Flask/Django, Node.js) for API work
  • Explainable AI practices and user-focused design expertise
  • Data engineering skills, including data extraction, transformation, loading, and data warehousing (SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB)
