Job Title: General Practitioner, Military Medical Examiner

Job Summary:

Pertemps Medical is seeking a highly skilled General Practitioner to join our team as a Military Medical Examiner. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for conducting medical assessments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for new recruits to the Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, including reviewing primary care notes and optician reports, to determine the candidate's fitness for military service.
  • Perform face-to-face medical examinations to assess the candidate's medical history and condition.
  • Discuss findings with senior Naval clinicians to determine the final outcome.
  • Communicate results to candidates and provide full training and reference materials to support clinicians.

Requirements:

  • Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) / Post CCT
  • Full Registration with the GMC and record of Continuous Professional Development
  • Full participation in the appraisal and revalidation as required by the GMC
  • Good organisational and communication skills
