Procurement Project Manager Opportunity at Thales

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Project Manager to join our Thales Optronics Missile Electronics (OME) UK team in Govan, Glasgow.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and promote Thales procurement competitiveness internally as well as externally (customers and consortia). As a Procurement Project Manager, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and executing the procurement acquisition plan/strategy (project, product development and production phases) in accordance with the allocated targets (time, quality, costs, risks and opportunities).

Key Responsibilities
  • Defining and implementing the procurement acquisition plan/strategy
  • Validating the availability of offers on the market of the product/project design
  • Optimising the cost of procured parts, in collaboration with Category Managers/Subcontract Managers/Tactical Buyers
  • Liaising with operational teams and Category Managers/Subcontract Managers / Tactical Buyers to monitor the execution of the procurement plan and updating the procurement dashboard
  • Defining and monitoring the contractual requirements of the procurement acquisition plan
About You

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience working within a complex, multinational, multi-site organisation and working with different cultures. You should have a strong technical awareness of the end-to-end procurement activities, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and assess opportunities. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills are essential, with experience building and managing strong, long lasting relationships across internal stakeholders, customers, partners and suppliers.
