Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is working alongside a further education SEMH provision in Stockton to support students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be passionate about caring for others, with the ability to manage challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support under the direction and supervision of teaching staff to assist pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress.
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task based on the expectations for individual pupils.
  • Provide support for pupils with challenging behaviour taking account of support plans and risk assessments under the direct supervision of a teacher.
Requirements:
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS registered with the update service.
  • Patient and Reliable.
  • Experience working with people with SEN / Disabilities.
  • Be confident supporting children and young people.
  • Worked as a Care / Support worker.
  • Trained in Moving and Handling.

This role is available after the Easter break and required until the end of the academic year with the potential of being extended. Due to the role being required on a long term basis, we are able to negotiate your daily rate on your behalf, starting from £85 per day.
