We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Underwriting Assistant to join our team at Taylor James Resourcing. As a Graduate Underwriting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our underwriting operations and developing a career within the Lloyd's insurance market.
Key Responsibilities- Extracting client data from broker systems and analyzing it using database reporting and bespoke analytical tools to assist with pricing.
- Performing contract data entry and liaising externally with the broking community.
- Carrying out day-to-day administration in support of the underwriters and frequent exposure monitoring and reporting.
- Calculating loss estimates from both real and theoretical events from current, past, and future contracts written by the company.
- Providing realistic disaster scenario reporting to the board and catastrophe modeling and data analysis to support reinsurance purchase.
- Assisting with ad hoc project work as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong academic background, preferably with a level in maths, and some experience with coding languages such as SQL, R, and VBA. Previous exposure to the insurance world is highly preferred, possibly through work experience or temping.
