About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Winding Expert to join our team in Cardiff. As an Electrical Motor Specialist, you will play a critical role in meeting the needs of our customers by delivering high-quality winding services.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Testing and rewinding AC/DC electrical motors using specialist tools and techniques.
  • Ensuring accurate use of burnout methods and detailing of motor windings.
  • Connecting and testing windings to meet customer requirements.
  • Implementing impregnation and stoving methods to ensure optimal motor performance.
  • Assisting with other key tasks within the workshop, including working on site with customers when required.

This is a standard day shift position with opportunities for overtime and flexible working arrangements.

Work Hours and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect:

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm.
  • A competitive salary of £38,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including 25 days annual leave, contributory pension scheme, bike-to-work scheme, life assurance, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A formal training or qualification in winding within a motor environment.
  • Experience of both AC and DC winding, although AC experience alone may be considered.
  • Confidence in carrying out fitting tasks as well as winding.
  • A strong focus on safety, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
  • An ability to work effectively in a team and independently under your own initiative.
  • A valid driving license.
