Maintenance and Facilities Manager

This role is responsible for the upkeep and security of multiple schools and sites, working closely with Term Time Teachers. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the premises remain secure at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain premises security by holding keys and ensuring the site remains secure.
- Respond to call outs, accurately recording incidents and liaising with the security force and police as necessary.
- Regularly test fire alarms, familiarize yourself with evacuation procedures, and conduct regular drills.
- Ensure safe storage of materials covered by COSHH regulations.
- Switch off lights and equipment when not in use.
- Porterage services are required.
- Operate, manage, and control cleaning materials and equipment, including ordering, storing, and distributing to relevant departments.
- Report structural defects to the appropriate person.
- Undertake minor repairs as needed (e.g., plumbing, changing light bulbs, redecorating).
- Conduct regular site inspections, identifying maintenance requirements and recording them.
- Liaise with external contractors, monitoring their work to ensure it's completed promptly.
- Clean and maintain the premises, both inside and outside, to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Excellent IT skills are essential.
- The ability to relate well to children and adults is crucial.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety procedures and precautions is necessary.
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations is required.
- Knowledge of health and hygiene procedures is essential.
- Awareness of moving and handling procedures is vital.
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
- A clean driver's license is necessary.
