Job Opportunity in Specialist Palliative Care Services

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Specialist Palliative Care Services across Sunderland and South Tyneside. As an Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will form part of a team of Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Practitioners developing and delivering psychology services for patients and relatives accessing specialist palliative care services within STSFT.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide direct psychological assessment and interventions within your competencies
  • Contribute to service development and audits
  • Develop and evaluate training programs
  • Work on a regional project called the Improving Mental Wellbeing in Cancer Project
About the Role

The post holder will have an interest in a career in psychology and keen to develop therapeutic skills to help undertake psychological assessments and interventions as an assistant psychologist. The post holder will have good organisation and time management skills and be able to support with project management and delivery.

Requirements
  • Upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology
  • Entitlement to Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Interest in developing knowledge base and skill relevant to the client group
  • Experience of working with people with a diagnosis of a mental health condition
