Senior Clinical Psychologist (Development Opportunity)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Older Person's Community Treatment Team in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience of working with older adults with both organic and mental health difficulties. The role offers a development opportunity for a qualified Clinical Psychologist to progress to the Band 8A upon successful completion of a defined Preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality evidence-based psychological assessments, neuropsychological assessments, formulations, and therapy to older adults.
  • Lead on psychological provision through consultations, MDTs, and supervision.
  • Provide advice, consultation, and training to colleagues and other non-professional carers on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.
  • Develop and implement service development plans to improve psychological provision for older adults.

Person Specification

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups relevant to the client group.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision.
