Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEN Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in the Portsmouth area. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide targeted support to those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and providing support to pupils with SEN, SEND, and SEMH.
  • Work closely with individual pupils or small groups, adapting your approach to suit their learning needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support, ensuring inclusive participation in the classroom.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to assist pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support the development of pupils' social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher and SENCo.
