Consultant Cardiologist Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our dynamic team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality cardiology services in our region.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our existing team of interventional cardiologists, delivering elective and urgent interventional services, including 24/7 Primary PCI. This role also involves participating in a weekend on-call rota, performing job-planned clinics, teaching and educating colleagues, and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cover for PPCI while on call
  • Perform elective procedures, including PCI and angiography in cath labs
  • Participate in Clinical On-Call as per rota
  • Conduct job-planned clinics
  • Teach and educate Central Doctors on ward rounds
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings
  • Triage referrals
  • Participate in in-reach to AMU
  • Travel to WCH to cover ward/patients
  • DSE and TOE procedures
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT/CESR)
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent
  • Completion of Accredited UK Coronary Intervention Training Programme
  • Experience in DSE and TOE procedures
Salary

£85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location

Based at North Cumbria Hospital, with occasional travel to WCH
