About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health Gateway Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, providing leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our services.



Job Description

  • To provide specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • To work closely with GPs, other healthcare professionals, and community teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with local primary care services, attending regular meetings to enhance collaboration and improve patient outcomes.
  • To participate in the development of our service, including contributing to policy and procedure development, and implementing changes that improve patient care and safety.
  • To provide supervision and training to junior staff members, ensuring they receive the support and guidance needed to excel in their roles.
  • To contribute to the development of our trust's values and culture, promoting a positive and supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.


Requirements



  • Mbbs or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty, excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA.


Salary and Benefits


The salary for this role is £104, 242 per annum, inclusive of a relocation package of up to £8,000. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and access to training and development opportunities.
