About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Applications Support and Development Engineer to join our team at Recruit Engineering. As a key member of our Applications department, you will be responsible for providing technical support, training, and after-sales service to internal staff, dealers, and customers across the UK and Ireland.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in an applications role or similar within the machinery industry, with strong knowledge of metal cutting, tooling, and cutting processes. They will be able to plan manufacturing processes for finished components and work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in machine applications, working closely with our sales engineers and liaising directly with customers to develop and test machining methods and programs that address their manufacturing challenges.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and cost-effective applications support, training, and turn-key solutions for new and existing machine models, both in-house and for end users.
• Deliver a high standard of technical support to the pre-sales team, including machine demonstrations, machine setup, time studies, process, tooling, and programming, to meet the needs of sales engineers, dealers, and customers.
• Offer technical support, training, and after-sales service to internal staff, dealers, and customers through formal training courses and hands-on guidance.
• Visit customer sites across the UK and Ireland to provide machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and operator training as required, either as part of a new machine sales contract or upon customer request.
• Support dealers in various regions by providing machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and engineer training for both new and existing machine models.
• Assist the European Sales Manager with dealer requests when needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an applications role or similar within the machinery industry.
• Strong knowledge of metal cutting, tooling, and cutting processes.
• Ability to plan manufacturing processes for finished components.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Comprehensive product training will be provided over an extended period, allowing you to develop the ability to support service and applications teams through training.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £50,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, pension scheme, and generous annual leave allowance.
