About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join the team at CHEC. As an Optical Assistant, you will work alongside the clinical team in the day-to-day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations while maintaining high-quality care to all patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinics
- Act as theatre runner/escort, ensuring patients receive the highest quality care and our theatre team is assisted during surgery
- Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns
- Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use
- Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities
- Adhere to good record-keeping and high standards of quality patient care
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a natural ability to empathize with patients and demonstrate a genuine care
- Is committed to providing the very best quality and safe patient care
- Has good communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Is willing to develop in line with the framework and personal development plan
- Is highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other systems
- Can learn and adapt to new internal systems
- Is self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and schedule work independently
