Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Estimator at Halsall, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and success by contributing to the attainment of secured workload targets and success rates. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing best value tender submissions and leading our estimating strategy to ensure timely and organized bids.
  • Mitigating risk during the bid phase through effective risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Providing high-level cost advice on emerging opportunities and maintaining a database of current market costs.
  • Ensuring timely and adequate handover to the Operations team.
  • Advising the business on market changes to sub-contractor and material prices in conjunction with the commercial team.
  • Continually seeking to improve estimating controls, processes, and performance.
  • Providing best net cost estimates in a timely and organized manner.
  • Meeting tender return deadlines and consulting with the pre-construction team to assess suitability of the tender.
  • Maintaining Estimating resource schedules and agreeing the bid strategy with the bid team.
  • Attending weekly bid team meetings and providing support to the team as required.
