Palliative Care Specialist Nurse

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Specialist Nurse to join our established Specialist Palliative Team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive holistic assessments of patients with palliative diagnoses, utilizing their clinical expertise to deliver high-quality care while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and clinical excellence in palliative and end-of-life care within the Luton community nursing service.
  2. Work in partnership with other providers to deliver a seamless service across all care settings.
  3. Develop and deliver specialist education and training to other professionals involved in palliative and end-of-life care in the community setting.
  4. Act as a role model for palliative and end-of-life care within the organization, demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership to others.
  5. Review local and national strategies for palliative and end-of-life care and support local implementation of changes.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Significant and recent clinical knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Evidence of teaching/training experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • Currently working in a B6 role or above.
  • Experience of multi-professional working.
  • Current knowledge of national policies and drivers relevant to specialist palliative and end-of-life care.
Working Arrangements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
