At Johnsons 1871, we are seeking a skilled Removals Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Laboratory Logistics department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient relocation of lab equipment, office furniture, and other items to new premises or storage facilities.

  • Retrieve move orders from operations and follow instructions to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Complete all removals, relocations, and installations for furniture moves, IT relocations, and lab equipment.
  • Follow delivery plans from JLL Ops Manager, Delivery Manager, and Supervisor to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized furniture warehouse, ensuring all items are properly stored and secured.
  • Fill recycling skips with wood, metal, and general waste.
  • Report all completed jobs to the delivery manager as soon as they are finished.
  • Take goods into or out of storage, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with large specialist projects, such as moving hospital libraries or school equipment.
  • Move specialist fine art and furniture, requiring attention to detail and precision.
  • Complete all necessary JLL training and maintain up-to-date accreditations.
  • Monitor and record all BAU vehicle mileage.
  • Provide project helpline day one support and assist with charitable donations.
  • Follow site rules and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Pack and wrap items safely for removal or storage, using specialized wrappings and packing cases.
  • Disassemble larger items of furniture for packing and removal.
  • Remove doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate the movement of large pieces of furniture.
  • Pack and load items into vehicles, securing them safely before driving off.
  • Drive to new locations, unload items, reassemble large items, and place them as requested by customers.
  • Unwrap and unpack furniture and cartons, ensuring everything is in its proper place.
  • Pack cold chain materials, adhering to strict temperature and handling protocols.

We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual who can work as and when required. Moves between longer distances may involve overnight stays in lodgings or in a vehicle.

A valid driving license is preferred, and experience in removals or a similar role is highly desirable.
