Job Role
As a Removals Porter, you'll play a critical role in the relocation of lab, IT, and office furniture, as well as other items, to new premises or via storage. You'll work in small to large teams, often including weekends and evenings, to ensure seamless delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve move orders from operations and follow instructions.
- Complete all removing, relocations, and installations for furniture moves, IT relocations, and lab equipment.
- Follow delivery plans from JLL Ops Manager, Delivery Manager, and Supervisor.
- Maintain furniture warehouse, ensuring it's tidy and organized.
- Fill recycling skips for wood, metal, and general waste.
- Report all completed jobs to the delivery manager as soon as they're finished.
- Take goods into or out of storage.
- Assist with large specialist projects, such as moving hospital, library, or school equipment.
- Move specialist fine art and furniture.
- Complete all JLL training as necessary.
- Keep accreditations up to date.
- Monitor and record all BAU vehicle mileage.
- Provide project helpline day-one support.
- Assist with charitable donations.
- Follow site rules and regulations.
- Pack and protect items safely before removal or storage.
- Wrap and pack delicate items, such as computers or lab equipment.
- Disassemble larger items for packing and removal.
- Remove doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate large furniture movements.
- Pack items, load them into your vehicle, and secure them safely before driving off.
- Drive to the new location, unload items, reassemble large items, and place them as requested.
- Unpack cartons and unwrap furniture.
- Pack cold chain materials.
