About the Role

Sedgwick is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading a team of credit controllers and assistants in managing our debtor book, improving cash flow, and reducing debt.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of credit controllers and assistants to ensure timely and accurate billing and cash collection.
  • Conduct regular debt reviews and provide guidance to team members to improve debt collection and cash flow.
  • Track and measure team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance results.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and processes for the Accounts Receivable team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with operational and finance teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, including invoicing, refunds, credits, and write-offs.
  • Support the AR Manager with month-end reporting and financial analysis.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients and operational teams to gather information for credit control, reporting, and billing.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to reduce overall debt, improve cash flow, and identify innovative solutions to reduce aged debt and debtor days.
Requirements
  • At least 5 GCSE/GCE at A-C grades, including Maths.
  • Experience in using the Darwin system, billing, and credit control.
  • Technical competencies in Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Able to work to targets, be self-motivated, focused, assertive, and able to work in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills via all appropriate media.
