Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Methods & Digital Integration Specialist to join our Aircraft Systems Integration (ASI) team at Leonardo. As a key member of our engineering function, you will play a critical role in applying Agile techniques to coordinate dedicated scrum teams and provide technical subject expertise for engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical subject expertise for technical activities across engineering projects, including design, analysis, assessment, testing, modelling, simulation and qualification of aircraft and software.
  • Develop the skills, methods, tools, processes and practices required to improve tasks in your area of responsibility.
  • Develop the capability of rotorcrafts and systems, in line with company strategic aims, through research and development of technologies, methods and engineering skills.
  • Understand the requirements of engineering activities and carry out activities required to demonstrate airworthiness of the company's products, including continued airworthiness.
  • Perform engineering tests that comply with required processes and procedures, to produce valid engineering data to support the design and qualification process.
  • Produce and maintain a range of engineering documentation within agreed formats in compliance with engineering and departmental instructions and provide technical data to meet design or engineering solution requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Master of Science in a relevant engineering field. Courses in Data analytics and Data Science.
  • Basic knowledge of physics-based modelling approaches utilised in engineering design & analysis (CAE, CFD / FEA / etc).
  • Working understanding of AI, or a keen interest in the subject (in particular the application of Neural Networks to engineering problems).
  • Proficiency in computer programming (Specifically Python. Some knowledge of SQL, MATLAB, Fortran etc. would be advantageous).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills & ability to work in cross-functional multi-disciplinary team environments.
  • A proactive attitude to learning and investigating, along with strong mathematics & coding skills.
  • Ability to follow well-defined engineering processes.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of aircraft design and helicopter mechanics.
  • Understanding of process development and optimisation.
