Senior Policy Manager

Join HM Treasury as a Senior Policy Manager and play a key role in shaping the UK's public spending and pensions policies.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced policy professional to lead the Public Spending Group, working closely with senior officials across government to provide advice to the Chancellor, Chief Secretary, and Prime Minister on public sector pay, industrial relations, and pensions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Public Spending Group, ensuring a balanced, resilient, diverse, and effective working environment.
- Build positive relationships with key stakeholders, including trades unions, workforce leads, and government departments.
- Manage the annual pay round, working closely with Treasury ministers, departments, and Pay Review Bodies.
- Advise the Chief Secretary and Chancellor on pay and pension policy, ensuring effective targeting of recruitment and retention problems and driving up productivity.
- Work with EDS to advise the Chancellor and Prime Minister on industrial relations issues.
- Lead the implementation of the McCloud remedy scheme, working closely with HMRC, departments, and public sector pensions schemes.
- 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 after 5 years), plus 8 public holidays and the King's birthday.
