Principal Engineer for Street Lighting

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer for Street Lighting to join our team at Kirklees Council. As a key member of our Highways & Streetscene service, you will be responsible for providing street lighting design and delivery services for council and stakeholder schemes.
You will work closely with our team to manage, maintain, and upgrade our assets, as well as deliver a significant capital LED programme. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your technical expertise and project management skills to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the team to deliver the street lighting service, including managing budgets and resources.
- Preparing estimates, technical reports, feasibility studies, design specifications, and contract documents.
- Contributing to compliance with Quality Management Systems, including site-specific audits.
- Engaging with clients, external partners, and sub-contractors to provide a high-quality service and performance.
