Senior Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at Assystem Energy & Infrastructure. As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in leading the evaluation of project time for our programmes of works and correlating cost and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop programme structures, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), calendars, and dates in alignment with Cost Break Down Structures (CBS) and Employer's data dictionary.
  • Contribute to developing cost and resource loaded programmes during submission, aligned with delivery milestones.
  • Ensure programmes meet required access dates, milestones, and key dates in compliance with Employer's Planning requirements, contract data, and works information.
  • Assess programme risks and develop mitigation measures, working closely with the Project Controls Manager and Change Management.
  • Progress monitor and update programmes, forecasting potential problem areas and proposing mitigation measures.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and other works packages to communicate the agreed construction planning approach and share best practices.
  • Appraise, review, and assess supply chain programmes and include them in the main programme as required.
  • Maintain short and medium-term programmes to ensure main programme objectives are met.
  • Support in 'what-if' scenario planning, providing integrated solutions to project conflicts and recoveries.
  • Support the Planning Manager in ad-hoc business requirements and leading Planners in setting objectives, reviewing performance, and anticipating selection and promotion decisions.

Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities to develop Assystem's network and services.
  • Attend and participate in Assystem's knowledge sharing and networking events.
  • Provide market research to sector leads.
  • Run Project Controls Maturity Assessments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Primavera P6.
  • Solid understanding of EVM and Project Reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience working for a consultancy.
  • Experience creating dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Professional Membership.
