Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Design Engineering Leader to drive the development of our Research and Development test capability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and experience in delivering results in support of fast-paced programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the R&D Design team to deliver continuous improvement of our in-house Research and Development capability
  • Design interfaces between test rigs and car hardware to enable homologation, safety demonstration, reliability prove-out, and performance testing
  • Develop long-term technology demonstration programmes to showcase applications ready for design teams to incorporate into development of car systems
  • Facilitate requirements capture across areas of the business to ensure new capability programmes are fit for purpose
  • Act as the design lead for delivering new capability programmes and build close relationships with car design, test engineering, finance, facilities, and operations groups
  • Prioritise projects and assign resource to deliver on complex cross-functional programmes
  • Work with Car Concept group and design groups to identify where verification is required for an idea to become a viable solution
  • Build and maintain networks and relationships on technology and capability matters with suppliers, industry, and academia
  • Track the projected progression of the car performance envelope and ensure that our test capability can always facilitate the range of operation required
  • Champion the importance of data quality within our test facilities
