Unlock Your Potential as a Silicon Photonics Engineer

We are a leading company in the field of computer networking, working on cutting-edge AI and machine learning technology to increase productivity in data centers and HPCs. We are now seeking an experienced Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our team in London. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative photonic components and systems that meet our high standards for quality and performance.

With a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in silicon photonics, you will be able to contribute to the design and simulation of photonic components and system-level functionality and performance. Your expertise will also include prototype development, hands-on photonic component and optical system-level testing, and contributing to the expansion of our IP portfolio through patent filing. In addition, you will collaborate closely with our fabrication team and external manufacturing partners for component design, process integration, and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and simulate photonic components and system-level functionality and performance.
  • Prototype original photonic components and architectures.
  • Work closely with the fabrication team and external manufacturing partners for component design, process integration, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop component and system-level optical testing plans and optoelectronic testing setups.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience designing and optimizing silicon/III-V photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
  • Tape out experience with photonics foundries.
  • Experience in photonic integrated circuits design CAD tools.
  • Understanding of planar waveguide optics, including passive (waveguides, multiplexers/demultiplexers, tapers, couplers) and active (detectors, modulators, SOAs and lasers) components.
  • Experience on RF/SI simulation and optimization, from components PCB/TIA/driver/optical components and systems.
