Criminology Specialist

Academics Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Criminology Graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Reading. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with vulnerable children facing mental health challenges and apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be compassionate, approachable, and passionate about working with children who have complex mental health needs. As an LSA, you will provide emotional and therapeutic support, guiding students through their school day and helping them succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional and therapeutic support to students with complex mental health needs
- Collaborate with Teachers, Speech Therapists, and Occupational Therapists to ensure student safety and well-being
- Implement a therapeutic approach in the classroom to help students develop resilience and engage in their education
A Criminology or Psychology graduate is ideal for this position. The successful candidate will be able to apply their knowledge to understand student behavior, identify triggers for negative behaviors, and recognize underlying learning challenges.
What We OfferThis SEN Specialist opportunity offers a competitive salary of £83-95 per day (based on experience, training, and qualifications). Long-term temporary contracts are available with potential for permanent positions. Full-time hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
