IT Support Specialist

Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust as an IT Support Specialist. The role will involve providing day-to-day support for Clinical IT Systems to end users, as well as providing basic training to our customer base for GP clinical systems, such as EMIS Web and SystmOne.
You will create and maintain user manuals and other support material for e-learning and virtual and face-to-face training. The role requires you to work from the site for at least three days per week, and this is not limited to the base site. You will also support and work with the Prism and GP Change team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide customer-focused IT support to end users working within a framework supporting projects or system upgrades.
- Provide first-line support to operational systems users in response to service incidents, responding professionally and customer-focused.
- Assist in developing a flexible range of training courses to support clinical system users in meeting the needs of the local health community.
- Work with HIS system/project managers, change managers/facilitators, and customers to modify the behaviour of system users who appear to be using systems outside the tolerance of acceptable practice.
- Create system-specific support materials, ensuring that all materials are up-to-date about software changes, local NHS policies, and Government / Department of Health guidelines.
- Responsible for the proper and safe use of IT equipment by users, responsible for expensive IT equipment and software.
- Develop appropriate course evaluation methods and assess outstanding training needs and plan any follow-up support/training.
- Help deliver support and training, including communicating/raising awareness of complex IT strategy/project information to the local health community.
