Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at TDA Telecoms. As a key member of our commercial department, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to contractual timelines and providing expert commercial guidance on all project-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the production of monthly applications for payment as per contract terms, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Provide expert commercial advice to site teams and management, driving informed decision-making and maximizing project value.
  • Draft and manage NEC3 subcontracts, fostering clear communication with the supply chain and ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Prepare and assess internal contract valuations and project costs, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing project profitability.
  • Compile and present monthly cost and value reports to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Foster collaboration with project managers, managing QS, and engineering disciplines, ensuring cohesive project delivery.
  • Support Contracts Managers with commercial advice, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage projects to maximize opportunities and minimize risks, driving business growth and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and their application in commercial environments.
  • Relevant degree-level qualification in a field such as construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office packages, with experience in producing detailed reports and analyses.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, ranging from £10k to £10m, with a strong focus on commercial acumen and project delivery.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, drive, and self-motivation, with a proven track record of success in commercial leadership roles.
  • Desirable: Relevant professional qualification (RICS/CICES) and experience in producing detailed reports and analyses.
