We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team at Orbit Group, a leading developer of affordable housing in the UK.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing specialist contractors delivering component work packages within our planned investment programmes. Your primary objective will be to ensure high standards of quality, value for money, and completion within agreed timescales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of all aspects of component investment programmes issued under the direction of the Project Manager, with an annual value of approximately £4m.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, including the preparation of Pre-construction Information, appointment of Principal Designers, and review of competencies.
  • Conducting and/or managing recorded quality audits, instructing and managing defect rectification, and issuing necessary completion records.
  • Supporting Customer and Leaseholder consultation to ensure works are designed, planned, and executed in line with their expectations.
  • Communicating effectively with Customers regarding any works that impact their home, their wider living environment, and their quality of life.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in assessing progress on projects, taking corrective action as required to ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.

What we're looking for:

  • Project Management experience, including investment works with customers in their own homes.
  • Knowledge and experience of general professional disciplines, including programming, quantity surveying, contract management, and design.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Willing and able to participate in the out-of-hours emergency duty rota.
