About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Assistant to join our team at Orbit Group. As a key member of our Customer and Communities department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality investment programmes that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage specialist contractors delivering component work packages within Orbit Housing Association's planned investment programmes, ensuring high standards of quality, value for money, and completion within agreed timescales.
  • Prepare and issue accurate data to Project Managers for financial monitoring, forecasts, business planning, and other necessary information to inform performance decisions and actions.
  • Lead the delivery of all aspects of component investment programmes issued under the direction of the Project Manager, with an annual value of approximately £4m.
  • Ensure that all programmes are compliant with CDM Regulations, including the preparation of Pre-construction Information, appointment of Principal Designers, and review of competencies.
  • Conduct and/or manage recorded quality audits, including sampling of works during and after completion, and instruct and manage defect rectification.
  • Support Customer and Leaseholder consultation to ensure works are designed, planned, and executed in line with their expectations, including statutory and legislative obligations.
  • Communicate effectively with Customers regarding any works that impact their home, their wider living environment, and their quality of life.
  • Support the Project Manager in assessing progress on projects, taking corrective action as required to ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards as evidenced by agreed Key Performance Indicators.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager Assistant with:

Project Management experience, including investment works with customers in their own homes.Knowledge and experience of general professional disciplines, including programming, quantity surveying, contract management, and design.Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.Able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.Willing and able to participate in the out-of-hours emergency duty rota.
