We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a welcoming school in Durham. Key Responsibilities- Support and Inspire: Work closely with KS3 and KS4 students, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Diverse Learning: Engage with students in classroom, 1:1, and small group settings to ensure they receive the support they need to succeed.
- Enhance Learning Plans: Collaborate with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to provide individualized support that truly makes a difference in students' lives.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, contributing to students' development both inside and outside the classroom.
- Professional Growth: This role is an excellent opportunity for career development, with opportunities to pursue a PGCE or a career in Educational Psychology.
- Behaviour Management: Demonstrate excellent skills in managing behaviour in both 1:1 and group environments.
- DBS: Hold a child-only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- References: Provide two professional references from recent employment.
- Desirable but Not Essential: Previous experience supporting young people with additional learning needs or SEN.
