About the Role
Abcam is seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team. This role is integral in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of our financial results. You will be responsible for the production of financial reporting disclosures, preparation for external audits, and key activities relating to the month end consolidation and close.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of financial reporting disclosures for the subsidiary financial statements;
- Preparation for external audits and internal reviews by working closely with our auditors and ensuring that deliverables are prepared accurately and within set deadlines;
- Key activities relating to the month end consolidation and close and responsible for the accuracy of key balance sheet items across the group;
- Responsible for the accounting for leases across all group entities;
- Preparation of monthly files for journal postings and submission of journals for internal approval, ensuring supporting files are SOX compliant;
- Responsible for submission of monthly and quarterly reporting packages to the parent company;
- Working with the wider finance team to drive the month-end process and ensuring tasks are completed to a high quality and on-time;
- Responsible for the preparation of key controls, ensuring that these operating effectively;
- Close interactions with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including Entity finance teams, Finance Business Partners, Tax and Treasury, and internal and external audit;
About You
We are looking for a professional with a strong technical accounting background, preferably with experience working within or auditing large, listed multinational businesses. You will need the ability to work alongside and influence senior members of staff. Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as a collaborative and team-oriented approach. You should also possess strong Excel skills, including the ability to reconcile and summarise large volumes of data.
