We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to play a crucial role in our clients Finance Division. This position is responsible for maintaining detailed financial accounts and ensuring compliance with both local and international financial reporting standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and detailed financial information for University reports and statutory returns.
  • Prepare and publish Financial Management Information (FMI) for informed decision-making.
  • Ensure all financial reporting adheres to local and international standards, maintaining compliance.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis on financial accounts, identifying discrepancies and providing corrective actions.
  • Prepare schedules for monthly management accounts, focusing on Fixed Assets, Inventory, and General Ledger accounts.
  • Ensure the accuracy and substantiation of balance sheet codes, reconciling sub-ledgers with the general ledger and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare comprehensive information for external auditors, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and standards.
  • Oversee the operation of financial modules, manage the helpdesk, and implement system enhancements.
  • Promote best practices in technical accounting, identify process improvements, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in finance or accounting.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and databases.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
