Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Technician to join our friendly and supportive IT team at Kingsthorpe College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to staff and students, managing daily IT operations, and overseeing the maintenance of the Microsoft 365 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for staff and students, managing daily IT operations, including LAN, switching, firewalls, cabling, and user accounts on Prem AD and Azure AD.
  • Oversee and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, covering Security, Endpoint Manager, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and system backups, while monitoring security alerts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with interactive whiteboards, end-user devices, and other school technologies, ensuring smooth classroom functionality.
  • Collaborate with IT contractors, support website updates, and contribute to the development of the Trust's IT network with clear documentation and project management.

Requirements:

  • Experience in network design, configuration, and management, a proven ability to diagnose and resolve server and network infrastructure issues, a strong knowledge of Office 365, Azure, SharePoint, and Hyper-V environments and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work within statutory regulations, policies and procedures, attention to detail and an analytical approach, ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, good organisation skills, prioritising and managing own time effectively, highly motivated team player, excellent communication skills, able to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision and guidance, ability to organise and prioritise a heavy workload at busy times, a calm approachable manner, able to deal with problems in a professional and friendly manner, displaying tact and diplomacy as required, willing to undertake training and develop professionally.
