We are seeking a skilled Buying Operations Assistant to join our team at DCK Group in Billericay, Essex. This is a full-time, permanent position offering excellent opportunities for growth and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Buying teams, providing administrative support to ensure the smooth cycle of the buying process. Key responsibilities include managing supplier correspondence, raising purchase orders, and updating event tracking comments on Mercatus.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate will be a systems expert, capable of training new starters and supporting the Buying teams with system capability and knowledge gaps.
Key Responsibilities- Manage supplier correspondence, including ticket files and labelling details, to agreed deadlines.
- Raise validated purchase orders from Range Plan and send the PO sheet to suppliers.
- Authorize amendments to POs on Mercatus and re-issue the PO sheet as necessary.
- Update event tracking comments weekly with agreed actions from the Buying teams and update on Mercatus.
- Cross-reference product and order details to check packing scans and log the most up-to-date product image in the library.
- Monitor housekeeping reports, highlighting issues with Buyers and making amendments to Mercatus as needed.
- Collate information on new reactions and top 30's to share with the Buying team.
- Support facilities with managing DHL enquiries and deliveries to ensure packages are sent and received weekly.
- Assist with sample management, including filing samples post approval.
- Good working ability with relevant IT systems (Microsoft Office).
- Competent numerical skills to contribute to negotiating and trading.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally.
- Strong organizational and task management skills.
DCK Group offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include 25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, flexible working hours, agile working opportunities, and free parking if you drive to us.
