About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Economic Analysis Lead to join our team at the British Medical Association (BMA). As a key member of our Communications & Policy department, you will provide economic advice and support to various teams within the association.

Job Description:

This is a hybrid role that involves a mix of working from home and in our BMA House office. The successful candidate will manage an Economic Analyst and a Senior Policy Advisor, providing economic support and input across the association.

  • Line Manage an Economic Analyst and a Senior Policy Advisor.
  • Undertake economic research, fiscal modelling, and analysis to support policy work, lobbying, and media.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To develop and implement effective economic strategies to inform health policy decisions.
  2. To lead a team in producing high-quality economic analysis and research reports.
  3. To provide economic advice and guidance to senior stakeholders within the association.
  4. To collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
Requirements:

To be successful as our Economic Analysis Lead, you will have:

  • A background as an Economist or in an equivalent role.
  • Line management experience.
  • The ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and research.
  • An understanding of fiscal policy and ability to cost policy proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
