Job Description

Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking full stack engineer who thrives on producing customer-facing web and mobile app experiences. You will join a leading company in the food and beverage market with a global presence. As a full stack Principal Engineer specializing in JavaScript, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence and innovation within your product team for both the web & mobile apps. You will lead by example, playing a hands-on role in designing, building, and maintaining front-end and back-end systems. Additionally, you will impart your knowledge and coach others fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and develop scalable and performant mission-critical web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Lead the mobile development on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
  • Drive a culture of quality and innovation, advocating Agile development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews and Agile processes.
  • Utilize strong debugging skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Experience working on cloud platforms, with knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) being an advantage.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and solutions is highly desirable.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the product roadmap and development processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement, performance optimization, and security throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills:
  • Proven experience as a hands-on engineer with proficiency in JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and modern front-end and back-end development technologies.
  • Proven experience as a hands-on engineer with proficiency in React Native or iOS or Android for mobile app development.
  • Hands-on experience in Native Android and iOS development using Kotlin/Swift would be a plus.
  • Experience in technical decision making guiding the team to propose solutions that implement standard methodologies so that a maintainable product is produced.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor other engineers.
  • Experience working in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), Retail, or E-commerce industries is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • You have a passion for automation-tested code and setting high standards for code quality.
  • Be a keen team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change through innovation and collaboration.
