Job Overview

Barrington James is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Development Engineer to join our team. This role involves taking on responsibilities related to the characterization of quantum dots and spin qubits, as well as the development of scalable quantum dot/qubit systems and readout techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of qubit technology and overall laboratory administration.
  • Create scalable quantum dot arrays that are compatible with spin readout.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable quantum dot arrays.
  • Characterize quantum dots and spin qubits.
  • Collaborate with the physics team and circuit designers to provide feedback and enhance qubit structures, excitation and sensing systems, and circuits.

Requirements:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific discipline with a proven track record in the field of quantum technologies and semiconductor technologies.
  • Clear knowledge of semiconductor qubit architectures, particularly spin qubits.
  • Understanding of quantum dots and spin qubits, ability to program and solve relevant models.
  • Experience with semiconductor device characterization and quantum dot characterization.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and communicate with a diverse team.
