Role Overview

At Intelix, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantum Solutions Engineer to lead our quantum hardware systems development. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge quantum systems that drive industry advancements in secure communications and efficiency improvements in aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design and Development: Collaborate with design engineers and physicists to create quantum systems, including quantum key distribution and entanglement distribution architectures.
  • Strategic Contribution: Provide insights and recommendations to business development on viable commercial applications for quantum technologies.
  • Technical Analysis and Requirements: Conduct requirement analysis and perform "what-if" analyses to establish technical specifications that meet customer needs, ensuring system compliance.
  • Design and Testing: Oversee subsystem and component-level design, architectural decision-making, and conduct trade-off studies to guide engineering choices.
  • Documentation and Communication: Prepare technical documents, presentations, and white papers, articulating complex quantum developments to cross-functional teams and leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Academic Background: Advanced degree in Physics (quantum, condensed matter, particle, or atomic physics) or Engineering Physics with a quantum specialization. Quantum information systems experience is a plus.
  • Experience Level: 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in quantum system design, ideally with a background in architecture and product development in commercial or start-up environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in engineering software tools (MATLAB, Ansys, Zeemax) and capable of custom code creation (C++, Python, or similar).
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively presenting complex technical work to leadership and diverse teams.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Proven ability to proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, with excellent time management skills to meet project milestones.
