About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Photonics Engineer to join our team in Springtown, United Kingdom. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced photonic technologies, including integrated photonics laser device technologies, to meet product performance and reliability requirements. Your expertise in simulation software, thermal and mechanical effects, and optical material performance will be invaluable in driving groundbreaking projects and leveraging Seagate's unique materials technologies to push the boundaries of photonics technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a strong background in opto-electronics and integrated photonic devices and systems, with experience in collaborating with colleagues in design and process areas to deliver integrated solutions and validate optical material performance. Additionally, you should have knowledge of project planning, collaboration with adjacent teams and internal customers, and skills in validating photonic device performance and reliability through performance analysis, failure analysis, and customer feedback analysis. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. We offer an estimated salary of £85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
