Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Freight Planner to join our team in Witham. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing our fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the management of the Company's fleet, ensuring continuous roadworthiness and compliance with current legislation.
  2. Have a clear understanding of the Company's policies, procedures, and vision, and how the Transport and Fleet Departments contribute and comply with these.
  3. Ensure that Drivers' Hours and Working Directive Regulations are adhered to by all drivers and mobile workers, maintaining accurate records in accordance with the Company's legal obligations.
  4. Ensure vehicle and drivers' cards are correctly registered and downloaded in accordance with Company procedures, policy, and legal requirements.
  5. Ensure fleet ownership and maintenance are accurately maintained.
  6. Conduct transport risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.

Requirements:

  1. Experience planning express or same-day van drivers.
  2. Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at an entry level.
  4. Flexible approach to hours of work.
