Job Overview

Landscape and Recreation Policy Manager

Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a skilled professional to lead the landscape and recreation team within the Environment Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating County Plan objectives into effective delivery on the ground, working closely with local communities and supporting their needs on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of a small team of officers covering landscape, access, recreation, and litter and fly-tipping policies.
  • Coordinate the delivery of a wide range of greenspace improvement projects.
  • Prepare strategic landscape and green infrastructure policies and strategies for the Council.
  • Provide advice to others within the authority, particularly in relation to planning applications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in policy development and management, with experience in leading teams and coordinating projects. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities and stakeholders.
